It became a dissapointing end to the season with this Cup Final defeat.The team battled well and gave as good as they got in the opening exchanges,and with a headed goal by Kyle from a long throw it gave the lads something to hold onto.With Matty in goal having what all of the team thought was his best game to Cally and Isaac as solid and commanding as ever.However it was my Man Of The Match Ben Halsall who in 3 months has turned himself into a very good right back and if he continues with such improvement will develop into a top defender.This report is by the Holbank manager and this is not sour grapes but i only wish officials would not bottle situations that arise in big games,such as a tackle from behind which if done in public would have led to an arrest,was not even shown a yellow card so the red it deserved was not even on the refs mind,and then if you have a linesman who is still playing the off-side rule from the 80's,and just puts his flag up straight away and does not wait to see who the ball is going to then how do you train a young team to play the BEAUTIFUL GAME? So as the game went on a penalty led to the equaliser and in the dying seconds a deflected shot meant the BANK were defeated 2-1 in there very 1st Cup Final.May this experiance give this squad the desire to want more.Well done lads on what has been a rollercoaster of a season.THE GAFFA..
